Lizzie + Bobby’s Romantic Fall Wedding

Whenever I think of a beautiful Maine destination wedding, a few gorgeous venues in particular stick out. Lizzie and Bobby’s fresh and modern wedding was held at one of these venues, showcasing one of the most beautiful backdrops the rocky coast of Maine has to offer. I had attended a wedding at The Reading Room last summer and was ecstatic when Lizzie hired me to shoot her wedding there.

I first met Lizzie on a call to discuss my wedding collections, and instantly loved her and hoped she had felt the same connection. It was clear that wedding photography was important to her and she had a specific vision.  Being from Chicago and planning a destination wedding, we did not do an engagement session. In lieu of an engagement shoot, I photographed her beautiful and imitate rehearsal dinner at the Colony Inn in Kennebunkport. While I still had not actually met Lizzie and Bobby, we had spoken several times throughout the year while Lizzie was planning her wedding.

I had been waiting so patiently for this wedding day to arrive because I knew it was going to be an absolutely stunning day.  I was instantly smitten with Lizzie and Bobby as a couple, their playfulness and their “up for anything” mentality.

From a beautiful “The Mrs.” Box, to her stunning Badgley Mischka shoes, I styled her details with soft ribbon and personal belongings.

Lizzie wore a striking and modern dress by designer, VWIDON with a long veil. Her flowers were works of art including o’hera garen roses, white ranunculus, white nerine, blushing bride protea, white panda anemones and thistle creatively crafted by F as in Flowers.

Lizzie and Bobby each had only one of their dearest friends in their wedding party, wrote their own very meaningful vows, an adorable first look with her Dad followed by a split catholic / Jewish wedding ceremony.

Their centerpieces were crafted with dahlias, astilbe and many of the same kinds of flowers used in her wedding bouquet. During the cocktail hour, which was held on the terrace with passed hor’dourves and signature cocktails, Lizzie, Bobby and I scrambled to get portrait shots before the fog which quickly crept in engulfed us.

The remainder of the night was intimate, with lots of laughs, tears; thoughtful words, a delightful lobster dinner, and lots of dancing.

One final detail.  Lizzie and Bobby met at work in the break room and from that moment, Bobby new he would marry Lizzie Souza.  Bobby pursued her until his dream girl said I do!

Congrats to a wonderful couple who stole my heart. I’m so thrilled that I was able to capture one of the most important days of your lives as you start a new journey as Mr. and Mrs. Goodman!

Vendor Love.
